An excerpt from the article:
Though raising an infant has been challenging, Bristol has the unconditional love and support of her family — especially her mother, Sarah Palin. After all, no one can better understand the complicated decision to have a baby under difficult circumstances. Just a year earlier, at the age of 44, Sarah carried her son Trig to term, even though she was told during a sonogram that he would be born with Down syndrome. Now, the mother and daughter are sharing a unique experience— raising baby boys together under the same roof.

I also take it personally because many people would choose to abort a baby with a cleft lip/palate like I was - a condition that is easily correctable and has no bearing on a person's ability to live a perfectly normal life.

My husband was the product of some shady goings-on (older man, married, claimed to have had a vasectomy). All my MILs friends wanted to know why she didn't just "take care of it". She told them to fuck off. Literally. So we tend to take it kind of personally too.

You'd have to have some gall to actually say to a person's face, "You should have been 'taken care of' when you were conceived." I suppose some folks are that rude. But then they shouldn't be surprised if they get a smack in the face in return.
