A Red-Stater's Favorite Ice Cream

You all will get a kick out of this:

I was grocery shopping today and I passed the ice cream freezer.  Very prominently in the front was a new flavor of Dreyer's ice cream: "Red, White and No More Blues."

I kid you not - my very first thought was: "Oh boy - no more blue-state liberals!"

Alas, it really meant "take your mind off the economic problems, have a nice bowl of Dreyer's ice cream."  Darn it.  (but it was a nice blonde moment ^_^)

I always wondered how in the heck the Republicans got the red motiff instead of the Democrats... unless they saw the irony heading towards them long before we got to this point in time?

Actually it's a fairly recent trend. The colors weren't really assigned by the masses until after the 2000 election. Before that there was not a uniform color association.

I don't think either party has taken made red or blue their "official" color but the general population, the media and political analysts have embraced it.

I saw that two days ago and I had a similar thought about it... but I was thinking instead, "Don't be depressed anymore, because you will be saved... by the government!"
