I don't like to speak ill of the dead. Ted Kennedy was family and friend to many. He was loved so it is a sad day for those who loved him. For me, I can only say that I am not looking forward to the Obama/Michael Jackson-type love fest the media is going to spew about this. The left is funny that way. They're always ready to look over even the most horrific faults to bestow hero status on someone who probably doesn't deserve it and they're equally ready to dethrone a hero who has rightfully earned the title. It makes me sick.
So now I must quote something from the witty Jim Treacher. He tweeted: "Think of it this way: If they get to bring up Camelot, we get to bring up the lady in the lake." Enough said.

Date: 2009-08-26 06:43 pm (UTC)Please. A high-profile man died, and naturally people are going to bring up things from his past, glorious or spotty. Think about when Michael Jackson died - tons of people brought up the trial.
(Interesting of note: there is only one "Kennedy sibling" left, and everyone else on the family tree seems to be rather quiet, media-wise. Trying not to speak ill of the dead here, so draw whatever conclusions you will.)

Date: 2009-08-26 05:38 pm (UTC)Yeah, so we had momentum going and it won't be long before the left starts pushing to pass it "in his memory" and everyone who's against it is not only racist but also disrespectful of the dead.
Please tell me I'm wrong about this. I think I'm going to go hide now.
But on the bright side, it'll leave a little less room for Michael stories.

Date: 2009-08-26 06:42 pm (UTC)As a Catholic, I sincerely hope this is the end of the American bishops looking the other way on the transgressions of "Catholic" politicians, especially pro-abortion ones, because for too long the Church sold its own soul to curry favor with pro-abortion pols like Ted Kennedy.
In the end it's not me who will judge ol' Ted, but I wouldn't want Miss Kopechne to be the first witness called to the stand. Maybe the road to Chappaquiddick on Martha's Vineyard will be open to the public at last (you know who had it closed years ago).
