Yesterday Glenn Beck attacked Van Jones, a White House environmental czar. Van Jones is the co-founder of Color for Change, the liberal group that's organized the boycott of Beck's advertisers. The article I just read here just talks about Beck being his unhinged self.

What I took from the whole thing (and which Beck didn't mention, at least as far as I know) is, why is a group that was co-founded by a man who is now a high-ranking government official attacking a private citizen for exercising his right to free speech? It seems like the group is being used as an extension of Obama's anti-dissent tactics...or is it just coincidence?

Am I looking too much into this?

If you know what's good for you, you'll stop looking into it. Otherwise, our Attack Czar will be by to "visit."

No, it's a typical Lewinsky-maoist tactic; when faced with facts- attack the messinger. It bears further investigation, especially as Leader Obama continues to try to consolidate his power over the populace.

No, you have it right on the nose. Although what ColorofChange is doing is getting advertisers to boycott Beck's show.

Whatever you might think of him and his style, they fear him because he's effective. He's not the only guy responsible for getting people to attend Tea Parties and town hall meetings, but he's certainly influencing the silent majority to take to the streets in a way it hasn't before.

Beck has been the same guy since he started doing talk radio years ago...I used to listen to his show occasionally when it was broadcast out of Philadelphia and I watched his show on Headline News for however long it was on before he came to Fox. The show might be a little more theatrical than it was on CNN but the primary difference is that Beck's audience exploded. The administration already tried to make Rush into America's bogeyman and Obama used to call out Sean Hannity, especially after Hannity exposed the Church of G-D America. Now Beck is in their crosshairs.

All in all, I find it scary the government is targeting media figures. You tell me when the Bush administration got advertisers to pull the plug on MSNBC's or CNN's advertisers. These people were practically calling for Bush's death and nothing happened to them.

I think it is a good thing to be concerned but also to have a steady sense of disbelief, just in case...

ACORN + Wright + Obama's "Civilian Army" + Ayers had me on a paranoid fringe for the latter half of the election because it bore too many similarities to how the dictators of the past century came to power. I am still very wary of it all.
