Obama Joker artist unmasked

They discovered who made the original image of Obama looking like Joker.  Firas Alkhateeb is a 20 year old college student from Chicago.  He was playing around with Photoshop and created the image off a TIME magazine cover and posted it on Flickr.  Someone else grabbed it, removed the TIME reference and wrote "socalism".

I'm also not surprised it's a kid with Photoshop, because it was a big meme to Jokerize everything last year. I had Jokerized my icon last year. The fact that it's a kid who didn't want Obama, but is still left-leaning? Now that is hilarious.

It's amazing to me that everyone is in such an uproar over this picture. The same kind of picture ran Times Magazine of President George W. Bush. You didn't hear any outcry about how horrible that picture was. There's that old double standard again.

Let me get this straight, Shepard Fairey, is slamming the intelligence of the guy who made the Obama-Joker picture (or, actually, the guy who captioned it)... because Obama is not Marx and did not create socialism - therefore it should be labeled "socialist" instead of "socialism."

Please explain why your poster has "HOPE" at the bottom, then. Did Obama invent hope?

SF: The first 350 that went up on the street and those 350 that we sold all said "Progress". Then Yosi got feedback from the campaign saying they wanted to push the "Hope" message so I switched it to "Hope" for the next ones.

Shepard Fairey was sucking up to a presidential candidate. It's his artistic integrity at work.
