Just saw this courtesy of instapundit. It seems that the Whole Foods CEO has gone and ticked off the hippies by writing an anti-Obamacare op-ed. I don't shop at Whole Foods because it's too expensive mainly, but I have to say, the clientele was also a reason. I'll have to re-think my decision. Knowing that the Neo-hippies have gotten their organic feelings squashed makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Take that Birkenstock to the face hippie!

I particularly liked "Branding Experts Say CEOs Should Stay Quiet When It Comes to Politics". This has never stopped Hollywood...

Liberals often like to think they have cornered the market on the organic market, environmentalism, etc. But there's a whole lot of "crunchy cons" whose actions are similar (even if their philosophies are completely different).

I agree. I come from a family of farmers and live in the corn belt. I love fresh vegetables, but I don't agree with the superior attitude that some of my friends have when they talk about buying only organic foods.

Penn & Teller did a BS show on "Organic Foods". It was rather funny.

He is probably one of the biggest Libertarian CEO's out there. Every year he attends and speaks at FreedomFest here in Vegas as well.

and he provides some of the best benefits at his company out of any major retailer out there.

The first time I ever considered shopping at Whole Foods was when I finished reading that op-ed.

One of my favorite things about liberals is that they always prattle on and on about diversity, but just show them somebody with something as simple as a different idea and they start foaming at the mouth.

And how hilarious is it that somebody who wants us to convert to socialism is going to use capitalism to make their point? Good Plan.

I actually shopped at Whole Foods for a while, because it's Austin-based, and the prices were actually comparable to other grocery stores in the area. (There's one, Randall's, that practically price gouges, and Whole Foods' prices weren't that bad in comparison.)

Of course, I also preferred shopping at Whole Foods, because I'm lactose-intolerant, and they're the only people that carried soy-anything. And their DESSERTS! GUH.

...This may be the first time I'm proud of anything Austin-based, and I'm dying to know the response of Austin's super liberal neo-hippies.

Oh yeah, the Whole Foods dude is great, totally a model entrepeneur who's a really, really admirable person. One of those guys who was super-left in college...and then started a business. ;)

*Laughs at all of the lefty shoppers and employees at Whole Paycheck.*

Actually, I've been known to stop in there from time to time. Hey, the rotisserie chicken and seafood soup are really good!

Am I going to have to become a Whole Foods customer??? Say it ain't so!

Oh, and starting next summer, I'm growing my own tomatoes and cucumbers (when I move to Charleston).
