I love this movie!
Aug. 13th, 2009 10:19 pmAnyone else watching the movie Dave on Lifetime (hey, don't judge) right now? Kevin Kline (er, Dave) just cut a BUNCH of congressional pork, and it was sublime. What a rush! :D If only real life were like the movies... in this one instance, anyway.

Date: 2009-08-14 03:01 am (UTC)I wish someone like Dave could be president. Unfortunately, I think the movie is too unrealistic with regards to what a president can and cannot do, even a down to earth type "real guy" like Dave. Movie magic, etc. (I also can't help but wonder how Dave would cope with a war or something like that. The version of the US in the film is pretty rosy, with only domestic issues like unemployment to deal with.) Ah well. That's why we have the movies, I suppose. Wishful thinking. ^_^

Date: 2009-08-14 03:16 am (UTC)And I agree with you about why the USA in the movie is so rosy. If it weren't, it'd be just like real life, and who the heck wants to pay $8 (or more) to see real life when it's right out the window?

Date: 2009-08-14 09:53 am (UTC).. but if I could make some movies RL, I'd probably choose LOTR, Harry Potter, and Star Trek. All at once. And watch what happens.
