Newly uncovered from archives of the official Bush White House website:

There is a lot of disinformation about the war on Iraq out there, spanning from denial of the presence of weapons of mass destruction to the assertion that the war is about controlling mid-east oil. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about the Iraq war that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

Oh, wait. That never happened. THIS DID.

If the Bush administration had done this crap, there would've been people rioting in the streets. Literally.

The fact that no one says a word about this is STUNNING to me. Not a freaking word about it on my flist, no outrage from Obama supporters I know in RL, nothing on the front pages of my newspapers, nothing!

They can't do anything but call you names. There is nothing anyone can say in defense of this. At least, not without showing their outright hypocrisy.

And that is what scares me most.

We don't need to be scared. We need to be FIGHTING this crap, tooth and nail.

But so many people I know won't say a word about any of it for fear of... I don't even know what. THAT'S what makes me even angrier than the actual things being done.

This administration is humiliating, bankrupting and destroying our country at every turn and we're afraid to say a word because it might hurt someone's feelings? We're just supposed to bite our tongue and sit there in silence and just let it happen?

Screw that.

I'm not scared of them, I'm scared that more of us aren't speaking up. When our people are being beaten at town halls, it's time for all of us to speak the hell up and start helping each other out.

A friend of mine mentioned in on his journal, and all the libs came out and said it wasn't a big deal, they wouldn't have cared if Bush did it, etc. I almost thing they believe it themselves. Or maybe they spend so much time lying they don't recognize the truth.

His friend should point out that this sort of thing was made illegal in the 70s. 1974, IIRC, after Nixon was kicked out. A couple of the articles about the email address list the exact law.

Like to see what his friends say to that.
