I squee endlessly over Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and especially Babylon 5 and I have a most peculiar fascination for B5-oriented tentacle pr0n alien slash fic. (Disclaimer: Trust me, my Londo/G'Kar fetish is not about teh seXXors. I just think the concept is endlessly interesting, not to mention fraggin' hilarious.)

What's to reconcile? I see no conflict between being a huge fan and being a raging right-wing Republican. Our fellow fans may seem some sort of conflict, but only, I suspect, because they are not as into tolerance and diversity when it comes to politics. ;)

*cough* And yes, it's amazing how quickly the open-minded left will slam their doors of perception shut when it comes to thinking the slightest bit conservatively.

If anything, it's we raging Republican fangirls who show more open-mindedness, because more often than not, the objects of our affections completely disagree with our ways of thinking...and in most cases, we don't hold it against them. Yeah, really close-minded we are ;)
