Even on vacation I can't escape Obama:

I'm posting from hub's crackberry and I've seen Obama books, plates, newspapers (at least those are understandable), and some other random stuff. I did try to avoid watching the news (I did watch Glenn Beck) but still. This is a big hippie resort (ski resort) so I guess I'm no so much surprised as I am disappointed.

Edit; I forgot to mention that a girl was reading "Dreams from my Father" on the jet to the resort.

I'm in the UK. Previous to the UK, I was in Spain. And I'm from Canada. Obama hype is everywhere, both here, Spain and Canada, and he isn't even our president!

I went to a miniatures (dollhouse) show on Saturday and someone was selling tiny framed portraits of Obama. Ugh!

I live in Phoenix and I've never gotten much of an impression from Scottsdale. The friends I hang out with from there are too varied for me to say one way or another. However, going through the parking lot at the Fashion Square Mall (Scottsdale's upscale shopping mall) I saw more Obama/Biden stickers than anything else, but then I just generally don't see much overt support for Republicans in general.

Thanks for the tip; I'll investigate further. I'd like to make more local conservative friends. :)

Granted this was in 2004. Maybe it has since been invaded by pinko libs from San Francisco escaping the crap policies they voted for in the first place.

Honestly, I'm anticipating a wave of Californian "refugees" soon, as the state continues to bankrupt itself. I guarantee that Arizona will be blue next election, except for the border-counties where being liberal would be suicide.

There's a store at my mall devoted to ghetto t-shirts and stuff like the plates and stuff, mini statues (so you can pray to the messiah when he's not on TV). A little nauseating that our president is more celebrity than leader.
