Clintons dumped good-PR White House cat the minute they left Washington...

... somehow, we did NOT get to see this headline in the REAMS of copy announcing the death of Socks, the former White House cat.

And if you try to point it out to kittylovers here on LJ, curiously they are in denial.

I'm highly suspicious of the fact he was put to sleep just as Hillary goes on her diplomatic mission. How convenient. Was someone afraid he might "meow" something to the press?

Also unsolved is the mysterious death of Buddy the Dog soon after the Clintons "moved" to their home in Westchester County, NY. I'm calling for an investigation into the deaths of the Clinton pets.

In all seriousness, they dumped poor Socks on Betty Currie when they left D.C. but they did take Buddy with them! Socks served his purpose and unlike Buddy, Bill Clinton couldn't use him to lure in the babes.

I like Socks, he is so cute. Then again I prefer cats. I have a dog because my husband is highly allergic to cats. I love my dog, don't get me wrong, but I would have a cat if not for his allergies.

i noted the very same thing: as soon as they're out of washington, goodbye socks. (note that the media helpfully pointed out that the clintons always visited socks when they were coming through washington. they love to do that - give helpful little positive defenses in passing.)
