Mods, if this is against the rules, I apologize because this isn't a petition to stop something going on in Washington. It's a petition asking ABC to have the Wielinski home destroyed by the crash of Flight 3407 replaced by Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. I was signature 88,887! The petition is HERE if you would like to sign it.

I grew up in Clarence, New York and am still a resident. These folks are my neighbors. We hear the words "close knit community" all the time and I know some wonder if they are just words. I can assure you, in Clarence, they are not. Nor in Western New York. Buffalo calls itself the City of Good Neighbors. It is at times like this when the community pulls together to prove it.

I live about 30 minutes from where you are and I think it is amazing the number of signatures that petition has already. The community has definitely come together and that is a wonderful thing to come out of this horrible event.

I was watching the local NBC affiliate WGRZ through streaming video all day on Friday. They had a message board set up for people to leave comments. I was amazed at the number of former WNYers who are all over the globe yet still feel that pull back to their roots in times of crisis.

I really hope ABC selects this family. It would be nice to be able to do a positive fannish post of the show. I have always wanted to meet Ty Pennington, too.

That girl goes to my school. She works at one of our dining halls. It's so horrible about her dad.

She was a couple years behind my son in high school. I am still amazed she was able to crawl out of the house as it was going up in flames.

I'm glad you posted this. :) I have family in western New York and what you said about community there is absolutely true.
