So y'all have heard of the blow-up between Pelosi and Reid, right? Can you believe how ridiculous this is getting? I feel, with certainty, that Obama has lost whatever control he might have had over his own government and now its just a battle between Prince Harry and Princess Nancy and winner rules the kingdom. Obama is just a puppet. I don't know for how much longer the media will be able to ignore the drama and disorganization.

To me, it seems like Obama finds the whole thing to be some kind of joke. He doesn't seem like he has any dedication at all (no surprise there considering his voting record) and he's unable to handle any of the pressure (I don't think he got the memo that he's President now and no longer campaigning). In addition to all of that, he has no idea how to write policy; he passed this "stimulus" bill off to the most likely person (or persons) to abuse it because, unlike a true President, he has no actual executive skill so he doesn't know how to do...well, anything besides speak pretty in front of a teleprompter. I don't even know how good of a lawyer or student he was because he barely practised law and his university records are (inexplicably) still sealed. All of those thing might be compensated for had he surrounded himself with people who were actually competent, but he's failed there, too.

Does anyone really thing that we'll be able to undo the damage he's going to do in four years? He's only been in office a few weeks and look what he's already done! Do we seriously have a chance? Or will it be civil war in a decade or two, when we stop talking about "us" and "them" and actually act on it?

/end stream of thought/

Edit: I guess the Reid/Pelosi smackdown either wasn't as big of a news report as I thought, or its not getting huge coverage, but here is a link to a Politico article on the fallout: [link]. Its also been on FOX News, too.

This is the first time I have heard of any squabbling between Pelosi and Reid. I thought they were working together to pass the stimulous. Can you give some links? I don't think about what the next four years will bring; I just try to handle everything day by day and try to do what I can for the moment.

Apparently, they were "not on the same page" yesterday. I think Reid was somewhat presumptive with his announcement on the stimulus deal.

Pelosi and Reid blow up?

Do you have a news link - this is the first I've heard about it, and it would be pretty damning information for their cause.

I don't know. But it has made me more determined than ever to get my citizenship processed before 2012. My Green Card doesn't expire until 2014, but there's no way I want to miss out voting this guy OUT of office.

My husband feels the same way (he's Irish living in US). He's determined to start the citizenship process asap.

We need more Irish and fewer Mexicans in this country.

Agree. At least I can understand the Irish.

Yeah, got quite a bit of Spanish up here though probably not as much as Texas. We have a large Amish population and when they don't want you to know what they're saying they speak their own language.

I didn't mean to imply that there was something "wrong" with the Amish. They're very nice people.

There are some difficulties. They do operate horse drawn buggies which can make driving interesting. I've been driving down the highway going 60 mph and suddenly I get behind a buggy and have to slow to 10 to 15 mph until I hit a passing zone. The buggies also make parking interesting. Some places that the Amish frequent have larger places for the buggies, but most places don't. The Amish are non-violent, patient to an extreme degree and very nice.

They are affected by our problems at least here in Northern Indiana. The area Amish get jobs in the RV factories which have either closed or laid off a significant amount of people. It's likely that the community will change how they used to operate because of this.
