I have a question. I've been reading lotsa Ann Coulter and I just got to the part about women groups and how they only care for liberal women. Are there actually any women groups that cater towards conservative views?

Concerned Women for America (http://www.cwfa.org/) is actually the largest women's group in the country. But the MSM won't ask them their opinion of what "women's views" are...

Which pretty well proves the point. :-) There's also Feminists for Life and Second Amendment Sisters. But nobody ever hears of them.

We don't count as real women. Conservative women ought not even be having children at all, much less daughters.

As I was told once:

I realize that this will be screened. But you'll read it, and that's enough. You are a misogynistic pig, much like Palin, and I can only pray you'll never have daughters, because the world doesn't need more "women" like you infecting our childrens' minds.

It was an eye opener, that's for sure. (I ended up disabling anon comments, which I'd never had to do before.)

What was most revealing was that not one of my liberal friends - people who've known me for YEARS - said a word to this vile, hateful person.

I now realize what people *really* think of me. I just wish they had the honesty to say it to me, like this mystery person did.

I got tired of my liberal "friends" spouting of their political beliefs, but when I tried to respond I was shouted at to stop starting arguments.

I was sick of being called religiously intolerant because I was a Christian. I asked them what they believed. One said that "I believe everyone is right and all ways lead to God. No matter what you believe or what I believe we are both right."
ME: So, my faith is just as valid as yours.
Them: No, because you tell me that I'm wrong.
Me: So, that's the wrong thing to believe?
Them: Yes.
Me: So, I'm only tolerant if I agree with you. Which is just as intolerant as you claim that I am.
Them: No, I'm tolerant. You aren't.
Me: Wow. That is so tolerant /sarcasm

(I don't even want to talk about the surprise Michal Moore vid-fest.)

See, this is what I just don't get. I've had almost the same conversation with people. It's ridiculous.
And I've been talked to like mosinging1986, too. We have 5 children, I do not have a job outside our home. My husband is head of our household. We tithe. I've been told my husband has brainwashed me, only wants me pregnant, blah, blah, blah . . . (((hugs))) all my conservative & Christian women friends.

Hugs back at you! My liberal family (along with random people on the internet) think I'm crazy for saving myself for marriage, getting married young, my devout beliefs, eventually planning on becoming a stay-at-home mom, the list goes on.... I thought the whole point of feminism was so women could CHOOSE what they wanted? Apparently not.

Oh, oh, but remember, we CANNOT TOLERATE INTOLERANCE!!!1111!!1

...Yes, I've actually seen that slogan tossed around. Some people seem not to have grasped the difference between "deep" and "doublethink". *sigh* Sums up the attitude in a nutshell, doesn't it?

I posted a small article on my livejournal a few weeks back, about Obama's oath getting messed up, and two of my liberal friends came out of no where swinging at me. I hadn't even insulted the guy (I admit, I was snide, but I tend to be when talking about Obama) and both of them started pointing fingers and telling me that I was being intolerant and one started cursing about Bush. Totally out of left field (no pun intended), and I really felt attacked.

I'm trying to keep politics from governing the way I judge people, but it's really hard because your opinion in politics is a large part of your morals, the way you think, and the way you see the world. I struggle with it all the time, and I'm trying to be friendly and fair but these guys aren't giving anything back but aggression.

I'm watching "The O'Reilly Factor" and a woamn's group is screaming at him for comparing Helen Thomas's voice to the Wicked Witch of the East. They're saying he's ageist and sexist. He fired back at them for not standing up for Sarah Palin when she was getting slammed repeatedly.

Thing is it was clear that O'Reilly was talking about her voice. The girl was saying O'Reilly was calling Thomas a witch, he was clearly talking about her voice. I also wonder if the girl knew that "The Wizard of Oz" was a movie.

Personally, I think Helen Thomas looks like a cross between Gollum and the Crypt Keeper. I don't like the woman's politics and she has an obvious liberal bias.

lol They just keep showing Helen.

Loved Goldberg's "Her 15 minutes of fame were up during the Lincoln administration."

I'm a member of the Clare Booth Luce Institute. (http://www.cblpi.org/) Their main "thing" is campus activism, networking, etc.

And I do enjoy their yearly calendar; this year it's Pretty in Mink" - conservative women in different furs - and it's seriously ticking off the liberals in my office. \o/

This month's pic is of Star Parker and I've confounded several women in my office who can't believe she's a conservative. Much consternation when I pull up Townhall.com (http://townhall.com/) and show them her articles. Maybe they'll think a little harder before they vote next time.

One of my new faves, by [livejournal.com profile] jackshoegazer at [livejournal.com profile] iconomicon. His stuff is quirky and some of it's definitely not my cup of tea, but he comes up with some good stuff.

The photography this year is fantastic. I love the 1940's Hollywood feel to them. It definitely catches people's attention as they walk past my cubie and I get to put in a good word for our side.

There's a National Federation of Republican Women, and they have local chapters in a lot of areas. Our state chapter was overjoyed a few years ago when a bunch of us younger women joined up and started our own Boston chapter. It was mostly the old guard before then.

Feminists For Life (http://www.feministsforlife.org/) may not necessarily be a conservative group, but they are obviously dedicated to certain conservative ideals.

I love the way they put it: "Women deserve better than abortion".
