Remember that 'Buy American' clause POTUSBO wanted to put in the Generational Theft Act of 2009 Stimulus package?  Well, the EU has basically pimp-smacked POTUSBO and told him in so many words to go read up on how the whole Hawley-Smoot tarrif made America take it in the shorts by means of the Great Depression.    Now maybe this is just me but didn't everyone else learn this was why the US had a Great Depression while in Europe it was just a Depression?  I guess that was back when public schools actually taught. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article5655115.ece

And India has pimp-smacked Obama on the other cheek with regards to him poking his inexperienced nose in the whole Kashmir thing. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/a545f3b0-f1f9-11dd-9678-0000779fd2ac.html  I love that country more and more every day and it has nothing to do with the Bollywood films i'm addicted to.

POTUSBO is in way over his head but of course we all knew that.

Nope, I was never taught about Smoot-Hawley in public school. I only learned about it from listening to Rush!

My US history teacher the year I learned about the depression was an open conservative, but I still don't recall ever learning about Smoot-Hawley. Bummer!

And I learned about it from Ben Stein in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

I work at JC Penney. American Living is the line of clothing exclusive to the store. Yesterday, I looked to see where it is actually made, going on to the other clothing lines in a hunt for ANYTHING made in the USA. I found: India, Milasia, Philippines, Mexico, Uruguay, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Sri Lanka...

Then, lo and behold - a single style of Buyer Girl brand proclaiming it was Made in the USA!

Buy American. Yeah right.
