Excellent point, I'd forgotten that. Watching Barack Obama speaking at that organization and promising to sign FOCA was horrifying. You wonder what goes through his mind at a time like that. It's not like he is an ignorant person. He should know all these things.

I wonder if Obama wishes he wasn't born, given his attitude towards abortion.

It amazes me how many people can't apply situations to themselves... it's always "well, I don't want to have to tell my parents I got pregnant" never "how would I like to be brutally slaughtered before I was ever born"

I got into a conversation with a friend who was reluctant to tell me that she had had an abortion when she was 15. (I think she was afraid that I would judge her as being unworthy of being my friend any longer, which of course I did not.) We were talking about the choices one makes and the outcome. She regrets having had the abortion and wonders what that child would have been like.

She then asked if I would change anything, knowing that I had had a horrendous marriage that ended in divorce when my son was only 9 months old. I said I wouldn't want to relive that and admittedly, being a single mother was difficult. BUT, had I not made that choice, my son would never have been born. He is my joy, solace, best friend, and rock in a crisis. I wouldn't have it any other way.

(He's pretty glad about that, too.)
