So I'm thoroughly freaked out, as is my extremely religious grandmother. While she and my mother were chatting today, she saw on the news people buying shirts that said 'Obama is God', and people chanting it as well.

Anyone who's ever read the end of the Bible knows why it's a wee bit horrifying.

Anyway, my mom is still not convinced that what she saw was real, and I was wondering if anyone else saw it or where I might go to find her proof that the event didn't take place in her head?

Direct links would be wonderful, as I don't have the stomach to plow through a bunch of Obama lovin websites.

PS: My mother is soooo pissed that she's gunna have to look at him and his wife on the cover of our TV guide for 2 weeks.

I read Revelations last October or November, and I also looked it up online. I learned that the anti-Christ actually comes after the four horsemen and the mass deaths... so, I believe that the worst parts of human history are actually over. I reread the online chronology again, and I discovered the anti-Christ does NOT mark the end of the world. In fact, there are two anti-Christs and then there is the Whore of Bablyon. Then, humanity lives in peace and happiness for 1000 years.

That is what I believe. God's wrath will be completed in His battle against the second anti-Christ. Then, there will be the Whore of Babylon who I consider a female politican. Then, Christ will return to rule. 1000 years of Christ's reign. I am not certain what would happen after that. Earth might be destroyed after the 1000 year reign of Christ, but after so many centuries, I really do not consider it a problem.

Hm, because Relevations has encompassed almost two millenia, I figure the Whore of Babylon will be around in 50 to 100 years at the least. She could be here in 200 years, even. I doubt she's even born yet, so you don't have to worry too much about Hillary Clinton.

If I may, I'm going to correct you on something.

Within the four horsemen, you have the first horseman- a white rider upon a white horse. He is given a CROWN and a bow, but he has no arrows.

This is supposed to be the anti-christ because he is given honor and nobility, a place in power (the crown). The bow is a weapon, but he has no arrows, which means whoever the anti-christ is, he will be able to take down the people without harming them with a weapon- but, perhaps, with words.

Sound like anyone we know?

I'm not outright calling Obama the anti-christ, but there are many similiarities. The fact that so many people like him, and remember that the anti-christ is supposed to bring world peace (though with the Iranians burning Obama's picture, we might not see that for a while...). My mother's friend, though, believes Obama is the anti-christ because there are SO MANY PEOPLE WHO LIKE HIM and they can not tell you why.

Ughh yes but I don't like it. I wouldn't like it if it was squeeage over conservative politicians, either. National politics is too real and carries too much weight for it to qualify as a fandom (or imho be at all healthy to consider it a fandom). Fandoms are supposed to be about trivial things like TV shows and comic books. :P

I think that he not denying that he himself is God, or more to the point, that he's not stopping the manufacturing of those INSANE t-shirts, is just as bad.

If he's so "humble", he would have stopped this mess a long time ago.
