I don't know if you've seen this or not, but take a look: Pepsi in the can for Obama.

I don't like Pepsi, never have, but I am continually disturbed by this commercialism crap. Comic books, ice cream, what's next? Good Lord, I shouldn't even ask.

If they come out with an Obama Tampon, I will totally lose it. ;-)

You mean like the Bill Clinton Tampon (hand-rolled, banded, and boxed)? ;D

So Democratic women can experience the feeling Republicans as a whole have been dreading since 11/08?

They already make o.b. brand. I wonder if they'll change the name to 'Obama.Barack.' Scary thought.

Ugh. I've always hated Pepsi anyway - I'm a Coke girl.

Damn. And I love Pepsi.

I guess I'll have to stick with instant iced tea.

Is this the Obamanation's version of Billy Beer, do you think?

I always knew there was a reason I hate Pepsi with a passion! I'm a Coca-Cola girl!

I've always been a Coca-Cola gal, so boycotting Pepsi isn't a big deal for me.

I AM concerned about Dunkin Donuts though. I LOVE Dunkin Donuts. This whole nonsense talk about becoming more "topical" in 2009 concerns me. Why in the flying hell would a doughnut shop feel the need to become topical?

I swear to God, if I see a doughnut that looks like the Obama "O," I'm going to snap.

First he takes America, then he takes Spider-Man, and now Dunkin Donuts?! WHY IS HE RUINING THE THINGS I LOVE?! :(

*sigh* unfortunately ...

Dunkin Donuts should know better. It's the liberals who want to put "fat taxes" on things like doughnuts. (Same for you, Ben and Jerry!)

Oh, I completely agree! I'm just disappointed because one of my favorite places is quite stupid at the moment. It's extremely frustrating. Nevertheless, if I see Dunkin get even more vocal with this stuff, I'm not coming back.

Here's the thing...don't these numbskulls realize they are going to drive away potentially 42 million of their customers? It's not as though these companies do this sort of thing for EVERY inauguration. It's clearly an endorsement of Obama. Honest Tea has put out an Obama berry tea of some sort with the excuse that it's saluting the fact he likes Honest Tea. Would they have done it if Bush or McCain were a fan of the product? I think not.

Yeah really. I'm sick to death of the overkill.

It's like they're putting up this false front that America (or at least the Left) is united, when the Right is just annoyed at all the commercialism. It's like political Christmas (advertising-wise), except without all the warm fuzzies.

Dang. I liked Pepsi more than Coke until now.

I don't like it, but it makes sense. Obama's campaign was all about selling his image, irregardless of the actual content therein, and was wildly successful. Can you blame corporations from looking at that and wanting to emulate the kind of blind devotion Obama's inspired in some people?

And about the Dunkins special "inauguration" donut: that's nothing new. They make red, white and blue sprinkled donuts every 4th of July. DD is just trying to make an extra buck off of the lefties while they're all in a good mood. :)

THAT'S what that was all about?!

I was half asleep on the train this afternoon and as it passed by one of the stations, I caught a glimpse of some huge ads that looked so much like the Obama logo, but it was something for Pepsi. My first thought was, "No, way. It can't be." And since I was half asleep anyway I just figured I was mistaken. There's overkill, but then there's just business stupidity in spitting in the face of a huge portion of your customers. I see that once again, I was wrong.

And you know what? When Pepsi's profits go down because many people will refuse to purchase their products, they will 1) be clueless, or 2) blame The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy for their oppression.

Beyond belief.
