I thought some of you might be interested in reading this short post by editor and columnist Saul Singer about the current Israeli/Hamas conflict. Previously a Congressional adviser, he now lives in Israel and works for the Jerusalem Post. I'm sure his opinion is influence by that , but I really liked reading his perspective.

Excerpt:
The equation of the actions of Hamas and Israel is disgusting. But take Jews and Israel out of it. Imagine terrorist group A attacking country B, where A is trying to maximize civilian casualties on both sides and B is trying to minimize civilian casualties on both sides. What sort of moral judgment would have trouble distinguishing between the two?
....
Finally, these soldiers are doing a service for humanity, not just for the Israelis. A defeat of Hamas is a defeat of its sponsor, Iran. It is no substitute for using economic, diplomatic, and - only if necessary - military means to prevent Iran, the world's primary terrorist regime, from going nuclear. But it should help concentrate minds regarding the necessity of doing so.

There is nothing biased about this article. Stating the truth of a matter is not biased. In fact, I would go further and say that many of the Palestinians themselves support Hamas - even when it means their own people will die.

*That* is how deep Islamic hatred for the Jewish people is.

He's right in that Hamas and Hezbollah are Iran's puppets. It's only when the Islamic Revolution happened in Iran--thank you, Jimmy Carter!--that the motivation of the war against Israel changed from Arab nationalism to Islamic nationalism.

But what to do with a population taught from birth nothing but hatred and that has no greater aspiration than "martyrdom?" Iran might be pulling the strings politically and economically but the Pali Death Cult has drunk the Kool Aid for too long.
