sometimes, the gop can bite me
Sep. 13th, 2006 11:50 pmI hate to say it, guys, but....
First, Howard Dean and the DNC called a College Republican field rep a racist and un-American for an event she was trying to plan at the University of Michigan:

(The DNC got their facts wrong - Young Conservatives of Texas is not affiliated with the Republican Party, and the original, successful event was conducted by the YCT chapter at the University of North Texas).
And then, Ken Mehlman (RNC chair) and Paul Gourley (CRNC chair) called her inappropriate and kowtowed to the Democrats, on Fox News no less:

Now, the poor girl's been put on probation, for standing up for what she believes in:

I'm shocked, appalled, and really upset that the Democrats seem to be controlling the Republican message.

Date: 2006-09-14 07:48 am (UTC)Besides, the DNC would never in a hundred years have apologized for someone on their side pulling a stunt like that (and I've seen far worse done by young people on their side, too). We have class, they're just crass.
