I think anonymous posting should be disabled. I've got better things to do than waste time reading messages from cowards who won't put their name to their agenda.

I should add that if at any time it starts to get really out of hand, like if anonymous troll posts outnumber rational discussion, then this will be reconsidered. But at this point I see no reason to change anything.

Yeah, I can see where it would be a nasty thing to have happen on your first post here or something, but really, we haven't seen that much of it overall.

Yeah, I don't recall there being a huge issue with anonymous flaming, although I haven't looked at all the posts lately. But if it does get to be an ongoing problem, we can switch 'em off. It *is* kind of fun in the meantime to watch them flail, and to watch our loyal band of members smack them down. :)

I actually was curious to know just how often we get anonymous comments, so I ran the LJ Stats Wizard on the comm.

We've had 6859 total comments.

I get details on who the top 100 commenters are. #100 clocks in with a mere 13 comments. Anonymous commenters are not in the top 100.

Therefore, 0.19% of comments, at best are anonymous.

I'm not really too worried ;)

It might be even less if one includes the anonymous posts that are immediately followed with a big fat "Doh--! That was me."

Because, you know, that is me, more often than I like to admit!
