The Administration's Schitzophrenia aka How Obama is a Foreign Policy Master...Look Over There! Is that Mitt Romney Making a Gaffe?!

At one moment, the U.S. State Department, an official arm of the United States government and the Obama Administration, apologizes for the Constitutionally-protected right of free speech in the USA. A few hours later, the White House issues a statement indicating that the earlier statement from the Cairo Embassy does not represent its views.

Later, President Obama himself states that Egypt is not an "ally." Ironically, it is the State Department who comes to his rescue by "clarifying" the definition of an "ally" but they still have to "parse" the word by the State Department's own admission. Yet, now all of the USA's other similarly-statused "Close Friends" are wondering, "are we 'allies" with the USA? Until now it was so clear..."

Meanwhile, the POTUS is still campaiging. Four dead Americans, including an assasinated Ambassador (the first in 30+ years) is not enough to derail even one campaign visit. Further, his "speech" condemning the violence and "supporting" freedom of speech was delivered in the same halting (for supposed dramatic effect) inflectionless way one might mention the weather. And there were no questions taken, despite the fact tha the assasination of a U.S. ambassador is typically grounds for war.

Now, there are riots all over the Middle East. Alliances (or "close friendships" if you prefer) are crumbling. Decades of U.S. diplomacy threatens to come undone in a matter of days. In the face of all this adversity, the President soliders on with his reelection efforts. Today he spoke and even quoted from the Declaration of Independence (the first time he's indicated publicly that he's aware of its existence) to drive home the point that the U.S. will not let those responsible escape justice. His bravado was greeted with wild applause and his campaign schedule continues uninterrupted despite the fact that, no, the world doesn't love us more than it did back in 2008 and in fact may even love us less.

But lo! What is that on yonder horizon? It is Mitt Romney, a rare beast that understands the world in which it lives and which possesses the rare quality of leadership and belief in America (things which are rarer and more valuable than unicorn's horn nowadays). He opens his mouth to say that America should never apologize for its beliefs and the media wolfpack pounced, intending to tear him to shreds. Because who needs sitational awareness and leadership when you have an international crisis on your hands? Its far more important that the one most responsible for the breakdown in U.S. relations with the Middle East be sheltered from the consequences of his own actions, or lack thereof.

On last night's O'Reilly Factor, Dennis Miller delivered his best political rant, yet. He went to town on Sandra Fluke, Radical Islam, the "War on Women" meme, his recent Tonight Show appearance and Vice President Joe "Chains" Biden. For anyone needing some red-meat or a nice diversion from the ongoing Egypt/Libya news, it is a must-see. The Daily Caller has both video and quasi-transcript, so click the link and enjoy.
