I am so upset right now that I could spit nails. I'm listening to the Obama speak about the murder by Libyans of the U.S. Ambassador and 3 other Americans at the U.S. embassy in Libya.
He just said something to the effect of "we condemn people offending/belittling the religious beliefs of others."
How the hell could he bring that into this!? Its blaming the victims and it echoes the statement given by the State Dept. after the U.S. embassy in Cairo was attacked. Obama took a few hours, but he threw them under the bus yesterday after the outrage grew about the USA officially apologizing for its residents exercising their freedom of speech. How can you say that an official statement issued by your own government doesn't reflect the views of your government? Is Obama in control of his government or not? That's a totally different issue, but it sure seems like not.
So the U.S. Ambassador is dead, Obama is saying we should be more sensitive to Muslims' feelings, and we're not going to do anything. A reporter shouted "is this an act of war?" As I understand it, the assassination of an ambassador usually is, but Obama said nothing and I have no reason to believe he'll take further action than his (he believes) strongly-worded speech just now.
And that these embassy attacks occurred on September 11th is no coincidence, in my mind. I am so, so angry, and I never thought I could hate our President and I don't just yet, but right now I am feeling a deep disgust towards him.
Edit: This gets worse:
Obama said nothing of this. How cowardly, what a liar.
Edit: More double-talk from the Administration, this time directly from Hillary Clinton, our esteemed Secretary of State. I just heard her give a statement on the radio where she called the film (which until the embassy attacks, nobody had even heard of) "inflammatory material" and then added the obligatory condemnation of the violence while stating everyone has a right to free speech.
She is literally talking out of both sides of her mouth here: by calling the material "inflammatory" she is agreeing with the point-of-view of those who murdered our ambassador and the other Americans. She is giving their actions credibility by saying "yes, it was inflammatory, so your reaction is understandable." What the hell message is the Obama Administration trying to send here? Do we or do we not have the right to express ourselves, and will or will the government not defend that right under any and all circumstances?
When I was younger, I seriously considered joining the U.S. diplomatic corps. I thought it would be awesome to be known as "Ambassador" and be able to change the world one conversation at a time. In light of the lack of support and protection from this administration, I am glad that my life took me down a different path. Its coming out that not only did the Libyan's own guards betray our people to the mob, but that the USA didn't have any defense personnel on staff (usually there are at least Marines there). Absolutely unexcuseable.

Wanis al-Sharef, a Libyan Interior Ministry official in Benghazi, said the four Americans were killed when the angry mob, which gathered to protest a U.S.-made film that ridicules Islam’s Prophet Muhammad, fired guns and burned down the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.[link]
He said Stevens, 52, and other officials were moved to a second building, deemed safer, after the initial wave of protests at the consulate. According to al-Sharef, members of the Libyan security team seem to have indicated to the protesters the building to which the American officials had been relocated, and that building then came under attack.
