... and I liquidated our every position in equities toward the end of the day.
For the first time since 2001, we're entirely ex-equities.
(As a testament to the madness of our fiat currency, some of the assets were passed down through family from 1950 and before - and we're having to pay capital gains on the non-real, i.e. paper, gains created by inflation. Absolute injustice. Capital gains taxes should immediately be applied only to *real* gains, not nominal.)
Anyway, it feels wonderful to be out of the moribund and into the realer world. We just looked at rental properties in a solid area of the state - to own free and clear.
The future just started to look a lot brighter.
Next big step: buying rental property, then developing the farmland for real - out of cashflow!
