Yesterday, here is Washington(Seattle) there was an incident involving a police officer and two teenage girls. The girls were caught jaywalking and the officer called them over. The girls were being verbally antagonistic towards the officer and one started to leave the scene. The officer stopped her and escorted her back towards his patrol car. The girl started to pull away and refused to follow the officers instructions. The girls friend grabbed at the officer attempting to break his hold, but was unsuccessful (a young man was half attempting to hold her back) She tried again, this time grabbing the officer and shoving him. He responded by punching her and then attempting to subdue her. The first girl came back and started to try and pull him off her friend. The young man who'd been trying to hold the girl who'd been punched came back and took her away and the officer continued to struggle with the original girl.

The entire situation was ridiculous, as is the fallout. I am 100% on the side of the officer. Those girls were absolutely ridiculous. If they had just quietly accepted their lecture and ticket the entire situation would have been over in a matter of minutes. They verbally assault the officer, interfer with his atempt to make an arrest, physically assault him, and be pains in the ass in general. Now that officer has all these whiny moron calling him racist and sexist and calling for him to be fired. And none of these whiny idiots care that this officer was trying to deal with two unruly woman -who both have records. One for assaulting a police officer- on his own.

This poor officer has black community leaders painting him as a racist jerk (as if he'd never think of using force on a white person) and he's got woman's groups painting him as a sexist ass (cause you know, its okay for woman to hit, shove, fight, etc men but its not okay for men to do the same. Women are equal until they need to be victims to get away with dumb crap.)

-Not everyone has to agree with me. Just thought I'd post this/vent

EDIT: Just clearning something up. The officer did call for backup and it did come, though I am not sure at what point the call was made.

I remember reading an article a couple years ago which said Mexico was deporting its illegal immigrants. They were Cuban. I guess any country is better than a communist country.

So... how does the treatment of illegal immigrants in other countries compare with their treatment in the United States?

Working Assets, a bunch of statists masquerading as a company, has set up a petition to pressure Discovery into dumping its upcoming series for TLC starring Sarah Palin. The show is apolitical; it's about Alaska and nature and stuff. But progressives, who are usually lecturing social conservatives to change the channel if they don't like something, believe conservatives should never be seen or heard under any circumstances:

There's no reason in this stupid petition given other than, "Ban this show because I don't like her." Babies.

So what do you think about what the Obama Administration has done to BP?

Basically it seems to me like Obama is plundering BP's wallet to buy votes and score political points and he is not considering the consequences of his actions (as usual).  BP has promised (probably after much arm-twisting from our government) to compensate all the victims of this disaster. How can anyone make such a promise, especially considering all of the vultures who will exploit this admittedly generous offer? BP  has stopped paying its shareholders their fair and deserved dividends because of this. How can a company continue to operate when its gone and thrown its money into a void and driven off any potential investors--who would invest in a company that doesn't offer a return and which is saddled with such uncertainty?  I predict BP will be bankrupt by the end of the year, if not much sooner.

With BP's bankruptcy so goes the jobs it provides to thousands of Americans. More people to be on Obama's unemployment rolls, to help build a dependent underclass that he can control. It is awful. I don't want BP to bankrupt. I want the company to learn from its mistakes, compensate in a fair manner, and then continue on to be profitable so that those jobs can remain and a valuable need (oil)  can continue to be met. Yet, Obama is hell-bent on destroying this company as he constantly demonizes it every time he is on camera and has set out these absolutely unreasonable demands which BP is--amazingly--not protesting at all. I am sure Obama will be successful in destroying this company and the irony is that, beyond the jobs that would be lost, the fact that if the company goes bankrupt then nobody on the Gulf Coast will be getting much of anything in the form of compensation.
