What is the status of season 3 in the UK? I have heard it is going to be a series of five "specials" I saw an extended commercial for it during Primeval last weekend, and it looked more like a movie than an episode. I want to participate in the fandom, but I'm too busy to read all the fanfics or to even write my own, so I am really looking forward to many conversations. In my spare time, I've tinkered with two fanfic ideas and I've been trying to figure out what all everyone can do.

I have this image of Gwen firing a gun stuck in my head from the Doctor Who S4 finale. Gwen is really good with guns, isn't she?

The Patrick Henry Caucus.

They were talking about this on The Mike Church show this morning. It sounds like a great idea and like it would actually produce discernable results unlike the various "10th Amendment" legislation that has been passed recently which only serves as a "reminder" to Washington of its limited powers -- I'm sure that Washington is aware of the limits on its powers, but it chooses to ignore those limits, which is why simply "reminding" them won't work to check federal power.

Basically the way it was outlined on the show is that this Caucus will bring together like-minded legislators from across the Union to debate and reach conclusions on how to vote on certain types of legislation. Once agreement is reached, any time that sort of legislation comes through that person's legislature that legislator will vote either for or against it with the aim being to vote against those bills which expand federal power and for those which restrict it or increase a state's power over itself. Also, the long-term goal is to reach consensus on how individual states can work together to end support of current federal programs, such as No Child Left Behind, etc. If the states come together and adopt universal methods for actually enforcing their 10th Amendment rights, it would do so much more than having individual states passing individual legislation with varying standards and varying levels of committment.

Apparently this has been on Beck before, but I don't get to watch Beck as much as I'd like anymore, so I missed it.

My mom sent me this video of a country guy singing the Obama Nation song. It's hilarious! And he's from my hometown! You can see the art/landmark Cadillac Ranch.

Not only did I hear this in China and Singapore over the past week but it's something else to read versions of it in Soviet Newspapers:

Arpaio Goes Head-to-Head with Feds

Arpaio lawyers ask for investigation

Lawyers for Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio have asked for a probe of federal officials who are investigating the sheriff's office for alleged discrimination and unconstitutional searches.

Arpaio lawyer Robert Driscoll said in a letter that Department of Justice investigators conducting the civil rights probe improperly shared documents with the Department of Homeland Security, which is auditing Arpaio's use of federal immigration powers.

Arpaio said both examinations are focused on immigration enforcement efforts. Critics said that deputies racially profiled people during immigration sweeps.

(Later)

Arpaio also says the DOJ admitted it based its investigation into Arpaio solely on "media reports". He says even Congressman John Conyers, Chairman of the Judicial Committee, said he had no facts or evidence other than what he read in the paper before he asked the DOJ to launch its probe.

Arpaio's attorneys say they are certain this investigation is not about justice but rather about a new Washington D.C. administration that wants Arpaio to do things the president's way, for the president's purpose.

As I was pulling up different articles regarding this I found a sad commentary on our educational system.

"I believe that morals and ethics is generally what should drive law enforcement," said protester Randall Jackson. "Not laws written in a law book, but rather, what's right in humanity."

Well, it appears that, at the same time as most Christians and Conservatives are deploring the murder of Dr. Tiller, Liberal Christians and Liberals are hailing him as a saint:

Slain Abortion Doctor Mourned as 'Martyr'

Pardon me, but I feel I must provide a reference footnote for this article:

2 Corinthians 11:13-15

Based on this, perhaps Dr. Tillman was indeed a Saint...

(Las Vegas, NV) - Wayne Allyn Root, the 2008 Libertarian Party Vice Presidential nominee and a regular guest personality on FOX News and FOX Business networks, is declaring “W.A.R.” on big government beginning June 6, 2009 when “W.A.R.: The Wayne Allyn Root Show” debuts in Los Angeles and New York (with Chicago joining the lineup in 2 weeks). Root's guests on his first show will be 2008 Republican Presidential candidate Dr. Ron Paul and Judge Andrew Napolitano of FOX News Channel.

The weekly, one-hour syndicated talk show will be broadcast on conservative political talk format radio stations on Saturdays in the 3 biggest markets in the country, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. The program will be aired at noon on AM 970 The Apple WNYM in New Jersey/New York; 8 a.m. on Talk Radio 790 KABC in Los Angeles; and 9 a.m. on AM 560 WIND in Chicago (starting on June 20th). “The show will focus on politics, business and personal finance issues with a Libertarian point of view,” said Root who advocates a free market economy, dramatically smaller government, lower spending, lower taxes, reduced government regulation, and more freedom and individual rights.

Root described his unique persona: “I'm 'the ANTI-Obama.' I'm an S.O.B. - son of a butcher - small businessman, home-school father and citizen politician. My life experiences have made me a passionate, committed Libertarian and Capitalist Evangelist. I am proud to be adding my Libertarian flair to conservative talk radio. My hero was Barry Goldwater. I'd describe him as a Libertarian conservative. I look forward to returning conservative talk radio to its Goldwater roots.”

Root is regular guest on three of the biggest talk shows in America: “Savage Nation” hosted by Michael Savage, “The Jerry Doyle Show” and “The Mancow Show” with host Mancow Muller. He's appeared many times on FOX News Channel with hosts Neil Cavuto, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Greta Van Susteren and Judge Andrew Napolitano as well as appearances on CNBC. A tireless freedom crusader, he conducted hundreds of radio, TV and print interviews around the country during his campaign for Vice President. Now he's turning the tables and will be interviewing nationally-known personalities and pundits weekly on his new show.
Root is the author of seven books. His latest is The Conscience of a Libertarian: Empowering the Citizen Revolution with God, Guns Gambling & Tax Cuts!, to be published on July 20 by John Wiley & Sons and available at www.Amazon.com.

A former television news anchor for CNBC (then known as Financial News Network), Root created, executive produced and hosted several national television programs including “King of Vegas” on Spike TV and “Wayne Allyn Root's WinningEDGE” broadcast on Fox Sports, Discovery, Spike and Superstation WGN. He is also a producer of the hit show, “Extreme Ghost Adventures,” currently airing on the Travel Channel.

The major sponsors of Root's new radio show are Rare Coin Wholesalers (www.RCW1.com) of Dana Point, California, one of the country's most prominent rare coin and gold bullion companies, and Wealth Masters International (www.WMItoday.com), a financial education and services company based in Houston, Texas. Root serves as national spokesman for both and also is the Senior Economic and Political Advisor for WMI.
