How to flabbergast a liberal

Hi all,

Like the rest of you, the majority of my fannish friends are flamming liberals but I do have one fannish friend who is conservative like me so, when the others aren't around we can sit and talk politics.

Today, I had to drop off a check at her house and before I left she told me how she'd gotten one of our mutual flamming liberal friends. Naturally, I had to ask how and why. She told me that, after proclaiming that she was a liberal Democrat and proud of it, our friend then stated that there should be free health care for everyone.

My conservative friend pointed out to her that illegal immigrants get 'free' health paid for by the public's taxes so why shouldn't she (conservative friend) be able to get free health care.

After stumbling around for a few minutes, our liberal friend finally managed 'But they're indigent'.
"And I'm unemployed" my conservative friend said "Why doesn't that qualify me?"
Our liberal friend couldn't come up with an answer.

It's so easy to trap a liberal, it's not even a sport any more.

(BTW, my conservative friend's unemployment is through no fault of her own, the CEO of her company decided to toss her and a few other people to wolves because he didn't like them. This is not a complaint. It's an explanation.)

I also told my conservative friend about the animated icon I've seen on here that shows President Bush on phone saying "Yeah, I won. Let's blow something up. I don't know, surprise me"

She just howled with laughter.
