This is a request going out to anyone who believes the power of prayer. And even if you don't, I still suggest your read this and keep our soldiers in mind in the coming weeks.

This is a request from Captain Lyle Shackelford who will be one of the soldiers helping to distribute the all of the voting equipment around Iraq on January 30th and 31st.

I can't comment too deeply on the Oscar nominations for '04, since I have not seen most of those films. But notice what isn't listed: to quote from this round-up,

Michael Moore's gamble to hold his hit film "Fahrenheit 9/11" out of the documentary category - to boost its best-picture prospects - backfired. The movie was shut out across the board.
