The themes and preoccupations of "Million Dollar Baby"-and some of his other art-house projects (unifying theme: "Oh, Let's Stoically Grimace Over How Awful the World Is! So Much More Manly Than Wringing Our Hands About It!")-haven't made me terribly favorably disposed to Clint Eastwood at the moment. However this story, about him snarking at Michael Moore, made my day:

It may be an oblique allusion to Charlton Heston and the South Park creators-all three being libertarian hunters/gun collectors who made the mistake of being hospitable when Moore showed up with a camera, and were rewarded for their courtesy by being pilloried and quoted out of context in "Bowling for Columbine". In any case, it's certainly a clever way of insuring that Moore doesn't bother him!
Disclaimer: I'm reasonably sure, given his age and all his brooding and hand-wringing about violence in the world and in the movies, that Clint doesn't actually mean it. Reasonably.
