If you don't know, "Book Tube" is an unofficial section of YouTube, where people make videos about... wait for it... books!

This guy is new to Book Tube and is doing a Harry Potter re-read. I only recently got my last two HP books back from family members, so I missed the videos on the first book. I've got so much going on and I don't think I'll have time/energy to go back and watch those. But I'm finally caught up with reading and I'm starting on the Chamber of Secrets videos. He's spreading it out through a whole year, so it's very doable. I think he's covering 5 chapters a week.

His channel name is sirbooksage, which is pretty cool. I'm really enjoying his video so far.

Just thought I'd pass it along if anyone's interested. I'm pretty much done with Real Life these days, so I am escaping once again into this wonderful and comforting world!

One thing I like about the All Souls Trilogy is the author put out a reading guide. The fandom does a reread each fall on the days of the months the story-line takes place (along with a small fandom convention). Since the trilogy has a lot of history and science as part of the world-building, the author, a historian by trade, created the read-along guide with references. Next year, a full Guide to the series world will be released with a few deleted scenes, artwork, more references, and stuff for the fandom to nerd out on. I'm just recently talking to fandom peeps though I read the series when it first came out, and everyone's pretty cool. There's a lot of excitement because the series is being turned into a TV series that started filming this fall.

Not actually how it works. Every author I know with a converted book or series sees increased book sales from those adaptations. Not less. a book makes the New York Times list with thousands of sales, but a low-rated TV adaptation still reaches at least 1 million people, many of them that never heard of the book(s) before.

People are absolutely reading books, especially across the globe. The global ebook market is booming in English-speaking countries that haven't reached saturation, yet, like India.
