As the subject says, I'm looking for more conservative Tumblr blogs to follow! God knows I'm sick of seeing Obama-llama's face on my dashboard (the amount of fangirling over him on there makes me ill sometimes).
I'm not even looking for blogs that are political in nature- I'd just like to follow some like-minded people. I don't even post anything political on my Tumblr- it's totally fandom-related things (my username is ftrbestseller).
Also, any tips on using Tumblr Savior to filter out political junk from my dashboard would be appreciated. I'm really gonna need it in the coming months...

Basically, I could use the same things. I'm majorshipper, if anyone's interested (even if all I post is fandomy stuff and 99% Supernatural these days).

Date: 2012-03-05 09:51 pm (UTC)I've actually unfollowed two of my friends because of their incessant posting of politics and lambasting of my views, be it certain conservative ideas I agree with or my religion. Mainly they were all gun-ho during the Occupy Wall Street protests, which I really just wanted to reblog and rant about what amounts to a hipster camping trip but decided not to our of fear of being attacked by the 10,000 other blogs that liked the post.
Tumblr is great for pictures and the like, but as far as opinions, you are better off not finding them. The members there think they're so welcome and open and inviting, but that's only when you agree with them. For me, this very simple post (http://randomthunk.tumblr.com/post/18711585432/meduka-meguca-so-the-entirety-of-tumblr-then) summarizes my feelings about the site (and also a covert link to my blog, ho ho). I mean, yeah, it's everywhere and all, but I've found Tumblr to be a more hostile place, just with .gifs involved.
My Tumblr is up there in that link. I'm a bit all over the place in terms of content, though the warning I give involves Doctor Who, drawings (I'm an art student), Community, silly memes, and a written thing here and there. I rarely post more than 10 times a day, unless something dumb with my friends gets going. Like .gif wars. Those happen.

Date: 2012-03-05 11:50 pm (UTC)Oh my god, Diet Coke. All over my computer. So damn funny and TRUE.
I deleted my Tumblr a couple weeks ago, partly for Lent, and partly because I just couldn't take the ~drama anymore, including but not limited to politics. I used to reblog posts I disagreed with and directly respond to them, but that only resulted in being 1) ignored or 2) being attacked by anons. Then I thought a good compromise would be putting all of my political thoughts under a cut and using a specific tag that I told my followers they were welcome to put on Tumblr savior. I basically made it as hard to read my opinions as possible, and even still, some people would read them and be just SHOCKED to find such controversial opinions! And it's like....I warned you? What exactly did you expect?
TL;DR Deleting Tumblr has been good for my mental health, though I do miss the friends I made there and fandom flailing. Perhaps after Lent I'll go back.
