Wow, I return after quite a while, and this place is suddenly quiet. Does anyone remember me?

Honestly, I have not been keeping up with things like that I used to. I no longer read No Quarter or Michelle Malkin. Actually, I discovered this new blog:

http://blogs.christianpost.com/disciple/

I really like what she has to say.

I have a job now at retail. Apparently, Obama is using Pepsi to campaign. Once I saw a person buying a large box of Pepsi, and it had the word "HOPE" with the Obama logo in the O.

What does anyone think of the primaries? The race has certainly narrowed down. Anyone for Ronmey or Gingrich?

wow…I seriously worry about the American political system. It just screams: buy your vote here!

I could live with either but my preference is for Newt.

As the race has dwindled down... I'm leaning for Newt.

I'm totally in agreement with Glenn Beck though, if my shoe could find a nice sock to run with, and it could beat Obama, it would have my vote.

I'm for Santorum.

Yes, please. Either that or we should all write in Palin.

I've pretty much decided to put my foot down over Romney, though. I don't care if he not as extreme as Obama, he's still a damn liberal and I am utterly sick of voting for the "least bad" option. Either the GOP runs real conservatives or I quit them. Period.

Giant Douche!

Seriously though, I'm favoring newt because whereas romney has a decidedly dicey 2nd amendment record, newt has none whatever.

I remember you! I haven't posted in awhile either and was wondering if people were waiting until we had an official candidate to start discussing.

I'm leaning for Newt. Although, like Rush, I'd vote for Elmer Fudd over Obama. Which means I'll vote for whoever the candidate is and I'm not even a Republican. I missed last night's debate, but I've caught most of them. I don't like the way Mitt is using the negative ads. And I understand why Newt has had to fight back. All the candidates have baggage which can be a problem. Santorum less than the others I think and I like a lot of what he says, but he's got the charisma of a wet noodle. (to me- please don't hate me Santorum fans!)

And Obama has baggage, but we know the media will give him a pass. It is what it is. I guess we can only hope the American people have had enough and won't give him a pass this time.

I'd noticed a few years' back Pepsi cashing in on the Obama craze by making its logo look vaguely like the campaign logo. Just a coincidence I'm sure (sarc). I'm a Dr. Pepper fan anyway; I buy Pepsi only out of desperation.

I'm still undecided on the primaries though I'm bemused by conservatives' sudden love affair with Gingrich (Nancy Pelosi? Dede Scuzzyflava? All is forgiven!). He certainly knows how to deliver the red meat but I'm skeptical that will win him the general election. He was an easy guy to demonize in the '90s and I'm concerned the dirt from his ethics investigation will leak to the media through shady anonymous sources. Romney could use a little of the rawr himself to reassure conservatives he won't go the McCain go-along-to-get-along route and needs to defend himself and his business activities a lot better than he has, because Obama will certainly do to him what was done to Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina in California. Santorum is probably the closest to where I stand, though I'm not thrilled with some of his voting record. I also just don't see him gaining any more ground than with so-cons icked out by Gingrich. Ron Paul is right on what needs to be done with spending and reducing the Feds' power, but I can't go with his views on drug legalization or foreign policy.

See? Undecided.

Regarding the primaries: I'm so damn tired of them. The campaigns have gone on for so long and there have been so many debates wherein nothing is really said. I'm just...I'm done.

As for Romney or Gingrich, I don't want either of them. Romney's a robotic Yankee elitist (kind of like Kerry) and Gingrich is a bombastic demagogue. Depending on the veep pick, I might be persuaded to vote for Romney in the general (though I'd feel the same way I felt when I pulled the lever for McCain in '08--not good). But if Gingrich is the nominee, I'll stay home on Election Day or write in Robert Taft (or Ron Paul).

*shrugs* I hear that a lot from people on communities and the radio. Really, you might as well go ahead and vote for Obama if you do that. You're ensuring him the win as if you did.

I'm not going to vote for someone who I think is almost as bad as Obama, just because that person is a Republican. If Republicans want Newt, then they deserve what they get.

Good blog. Very much on the same topic as an argument had on LJ lately. LOL.
The Word is just as strict for straight as it is for gay, it's just that straight people are to make and raise children. Otherwise straight people would be expected to stay single and never have sex.

I'm for Santorum, though I'm not sure if he'll make it. Primaries for me run a bit late, so it'll be decided by that time and I'll just vote on a tie breaker by then. I really am enjoying Gingrich's attack on the MSN though. He's showing that he's not afraid. If it came down to him and Romney, I could be comfortable voting for him.

I can't say I'm particularly excited about any of the candidates. All of them will end up betraying us in one form or fashion if they're elected. Newt excites me by the way he talks, but his record is concerning when it comes to his progressive leanings. Still, he's the one I'm rooting for. I think he has the best potential for leading us to a more conservative place as a nation.

Out of all of them on the stage, I think Santorum would be the only one who would actively attempt to do everything he says, the only one who would genuinely attempt to keep his word, but I don't think he would be successful, and I think America would end up hating him and therefore conservatism more than Bush. I also think think he'd try to throw us into about 15 wars... Kind of like what Glenn Beck says would happen if he became President: "What do you mean we're out of missiles?"

Romney sickens me. He's the essence of a northeastern republican politician. I feel slimy whenever he opens his mouth. He says some nice things, but you just can't trust him. ... Like Rick Perry.

Ron Paul would, like Santorum, keep his word probably. He'd also cause a worldwide crisis by abruptly pulling the plugs on several overseas missions. I think Paul is the ultimate destination of where we need to go as a nation eventually, and I'd actually compromise to support his foreign policy stance on everything except for Iran. I just think it would be incredibly stupid to allow such an administration to get nuclear weapons. Maybe there's a way for it not to be purely America's responsibility; it shouldn't be America's responsibility alone. But you don't just allow a regime like that to do whatever it wants and destroy whoever it pleases.

I remember you. =o)

I'll be voting for Newt here in Florida, but if Romney wins I won't be too disappointed. (I voted for him in '08 since Thompson dropped out before FL.)
