Yeah, lady. I know exactly who should pay for your kids. How about ... wait for it ... YOU? You laid down and spread 'em, and you're trying to make someone else pay for the result? You're what's wrong with this country, lady. I just feel sorry for your kids that their mother is such a self-centered, whiny little idiot.

Homeless Lady with 15 Kids: ‘Somebody Needs to Pay for All My Children’

Glen Beck lost his mind on Friday over this video.

http://www.glennbeck.com/2011/12/02/homeless-woman-with-15-kids-someones-gotta-pay-for-this/

The comments on YouTube are less than supportive, too. It does my heart good to see so many conservatives FINALLY voicing there opinions so strongly and publicly.

I think it is her blatantatly grasping and entitled attitude that turns people off in this case. She is also a face to the statistic of people on welfare. If a person watches this video and wonders if she is a good example of what other welfare recipients are like (entitled, grasping, shiftless, and doing nothing themselves to better their own situation--just realized this could describe #Occupy very well) then that would hopefully lead to questioning our welfare/entitlement system as a whole if all it does is ecourage people to be deadbeats. Most Americans don't mind people with a hand-up, especially if their bad fortune isn't their own fault, but 12 children didn't just "happen" to this woman, and she is not looking for a hand-up but rather a hand-out.

I would help her out by giving her a quarter and telling her to squeeze it between her knees.

Yep. She is the poster child for Welfare Reform!

This is why there should be time limits and mandatory community service to receive benefits. Welfare is supposed to be a safety net, not a hammock.

That had me laughing SO HARD, thank you!

What a wonderful point about the children. It's so easy to want to help the kids. It's not their fault they were born to such irresponsible people. They are stuck in the middle and are helpless to do anything about it.

But he's right that they need to be made 'uncomfortable in their poverty', I think was the term used, so that they see that Mom and Dad's behavior has consequences that affect the entire family, and so they don't learn Mom and Dad's terrible habits and views about how everyone is responsible for their situation, except for them.

Bravo!

That's a good part of the primary societal change that has taken place in the last 70 years. The state has, in many respects, taken over the role of "father".

Well, it looks like more people are disgusted by this woman and her behavior, rather than supporting it. That gives me a little hope for humanity.

I don't care for him. He seems to have no grasp of Islam/foreign policy regarding it. But to each his own, I guess.

I'm okay with his foreign policy Inre Islam because he would simply not deal with them. That works for me. The best way to deal with muslims seems to be to lock 2 of them in a room together, sooner or later, they'll get to fighting.

How many problems have we had with tajikstan?

Bottling Islam up seems to work out reasonably well, it's just that it doesn't mix well and needs to be watched at the borders.

How many problems have we had with tajikstan?

It's hard for me to believe that I even have to say this, but the issue is not a particular country. The issue is the level of devotion a group of people have for the ideology of Islam, how dedicated they are to following its tenets to convert, subdue or murder unbelievers, and how organized/capable they are in carrying those objectives out.

What does "bottling Islam up" even mean, on a practical level?

Watched at the borders? What borders? Islam is an ideology that crosses all borders.

Again, I thought you knew all of this.

Date: 2011-12-06 08:17 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ford-prefect42.livejournal.com
Well, what I mean is that if we were to not trade or allow movement of people between the US and Islamic nations, we'd have fewer problems in dealing with Islam. Then it wouldn't matter so much how devoted to islam and the spread of islam the people *in* those nations werebecause all they'd have to work with would be their own nations and those tend to degrade quickly.

The islamics already *here* are small enough in number that they can be absorbed and assimilated *if* they are not reinforced with immigration.

That's Ron Pauls option, The other options are total warfare (my personal preference) but that has the problem of a massive lack of political will, and doing what we've been doing which is ineffectual slaps while constantly denying that there is a problem with islam. That last method hasn't been working out so well.

Date: 2011-12-07 03:34 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mosinging1986.livejournal.com
Oh, I'm all for halting (or at least putting a limit on) Muslim immigration. It's a step, but obviously it can't be the only one.

I think the most important step is getting people to open their eyes to what Islam actually teaches. Then, and only then, can we effectively deal with it. But we can't even get that far. People are going to keep putting their hands over their ears and chanting, "Islam is a religion of peace! Islam is a religion of peace!" until we are all subjected to sharia law. Or y'know, dead.

I just *love* getting called ignorant for pointing out that Bin Laden is about as popular in the muslim world as Obama is here. And that Obama is not exactly a "fringe" figure in american politics, ergo... It makes me so very happy.

Yep, that's pretty much how those discussions always go.

- You're misunderstanding Islam
- You don't read Arabic, so you're reading it wrong. (Not that they do either most of the time, but they leave that part out.)
- Christianity/Judaism are just as bad
- YOU'RE A RACIST, BIGOTED ISLAMOPHOBE!

If I was the defeatist sort, I'd get myself fitted for a burqa and be done with it. But I'd rather die than submit to this ideology. And I do not say that lightly.

Given the circumstances and general statistics, even without the news saying so one could make the assumption that the father is in jail and probably be correct, no stereotypes required!

Date: 2011-12-05 02:03 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ford-prefect42.livejournal.com
And that is the essence of the stereotype. Stereotypes are the method of the masses of doing statistical analysis. Seriously look at any stereotype, and you'll see that there are bases for nearly all of them.

And would you believe there are people who are actually saying, "It's not entirely her fault?" UH...really‽‽

Unbelievable.

You know, sometimes I wish I was the type of person who could live life in such an irresponsible manner and get all the help these types of people always get. But I can't. I would not be able to look at myself in the mirror.

I have known people who, while not being as extreme as having 15 (!) kids, have a bunch of them, sometimes with different fathers, are on all sorts of aid... and somehow manage to buy things like computers and phones and other expensive items. They have access to food, medical care and all the rest. I bet they don't pay a dime in taxes.

And here I am, out of full time work, forced to live at home, but working small part time jobs to make ends meet, saving up in order to pay taxes next year, and turning down my parents every time they want to hand me money because IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO when you are an ADULT.

Maybe she ought to do a reality show with the Octomom. Two Broke Girls: 25 Kids And Counting!

I saw the homeless family on "60 Minutes" a week ago that lived out of a car. As sad as their situation was, I noticed nobody was looking for pity or for someone to take responsibility for them. The teenage daughter was determined to beat poverty, make it to college, and become an advocate for children.

Unfortunately, I don't see that happening with this woman and as a result, taxpayers likely will have to pay for her children one way or another.

She reminds me of a girl I know who chose her babies daddies (yes, plural) BECAUSE they were career criminals. She knew that if they were in jail she wouldn't have any trouble getting Welfare, and "they wouldn't be pestering her for visitation."

Stay classy, bb. :-/
