I had posted on a RW/YST fandom group about organizations to help the people of Japan. One commenter suggested a link to a LiveJournal community raising donation money through fandom auctions.

Is it just me or have there been more serious earthquakes since the tsunami that struck India around 2005?

I would actually reckon this has been the most serious tsunami since 2005, with the Haiti earthquake being the most serious otherwise since then.

Well, that area (Ring of Fire) is notorious for intense seismic activity, both volcanic in nature and the faults shifting around as they do. But yeah, I know what you mean.
