this is for the "ann o'connor" file:

Tucson tea party founder says Giffords to blame for getting shot

that headline is an impudent falsehood. people today convert conditionals into absolutes, with distorting rewrites along the way. if we lost the ability to think in conditionals, we are f--king sunk.

That subject heading is completely disingenuous. They go on and on about Sarah Palin and the crosshairs and how Giffords was afraid for her life. He makes an good point. If she were frightened for her life as they say, why would she put herself out there like that without security. He's not saying it's her fault. He's saying the media is being dishonest about the fact that she was shaking in fear due to Palin's rhetoric and cross-hair map. She obviously felt safe enough to hold public events without security. He's saying the Sheriff is being dishonest about the environment of hatred and fear in their city due to the Tea Party and spokespeople because the open meeting that day does not speak of an environment overlayed with hatred and fear.

He's saying the act was done by one crazy guy and Giffords had no way of knowing this one guy would be after her that day and felt perfectly safe being out there in her own city without anyone to guard her back.

I read some of the comments. What a bunch of morons.
