Sheryl "One Square" Crow has a tune out where she sings about her fantasies of unplugging anyone who disagrees with Her Majesty. Ironically, it's called "Say What You Want." It includes these fine lyrics:

I saw you ranting on tv today
I heard you tell me to reload
You got a lot of nerve to talk that way
Someone unplug the microphone

She goes on to warble:

Ignorance is patriotic
Reasons so idiotic
The winds of change just keep on blowing
This is America you never know it

Wah, it's not America anymore because you'll never live down that toilet paper quote. Waaaah.

I know I change the radio every time she comes on. Bleah.

Actually, that DOES describe the Obama Administration!

You mean she's not talking about them?

Well, that stanza can be interpretted as trashing the Obama administration, you know?

You know what's the funny thing about freedom of speech? It goes both ways: Yes, you can say whatever you want, but others are also allowed to react to what you say.

Those lyrics ... I see words, but all I'm reading is "Wah wah wah!"

And where was she when people were trashing GW Bush? Oh, yeah, trashing him right along with everyone else. Cry me a river, Sheryl. You get no sympathy from me.

Ya know, conservatives are getting so much hate these days, I'm starting to think we must be doing something right. ;-)

And this is why I listen to my iPod when I want music.

I'm embarrassed to say that I liked her 90's songs. But, in my defense, I was apolitical in the 90's, and I never knew she was a leftist. I'm still ashamed.

Yeah, keep bashing Palin, Ms. Crow.

The lyrics are really dumb overall.

But this one really bugs me:
"Someone unplug the microphone"

Excuse me? I mean you could say "I unplug my radio/tv/whatever". I choose not to listen to/watch stuff I dislike all the time. But "Someone unplug the microphone"? She might as well sing "Someone shut this person up, don't let them speak their mind." Does she not realize that the beauty of freedom of speech is that people don't have to like what you say for you to be allowed to say it?

But note, I didn't say "take away her microphone."

I think this song is idiotic, and I might question the senses of people who continue to listen to her, but she can still say and sing dumb stuff if she wants.
