. . . would be a good name for a rock band, as Dave Barry would say. :-)
But seriously, good piece here about Sarah Palin and the women she's endorsed. It'll be interesting to see how many of them make the cut tonight. I think Palin and these other women have done each other a lot of good. Palin has been something of a trailblazer for (relatively) young conservative female politicians. She took all the crap they threw at her and kept fighting, and in so doing, I think she took a lot of pressure off the next group of women coming up. Look how the personal accusations against Haley have gone over; a lot of people seemed to have rolled their eyes at the accusers and kept supporting the candidate. Would that have happened if the left hadn't made everyone sick of wild personal (and gender-based) mudslinging during the Palin campaign? I wonder.
And turn-about is fair play: If these women do well, it just might boost Palin's credibility a notch with the unconvinced.
Anyway, best wishes to the mama grizzlies!

Date: 2010-06-08 08:31 pm (UTC)Sarah Palin has become the most powerful and influencial woman that our nation has had in the past 100 years. Why don't more people, especially women, like her? I have noticed, though, that the women are rising incredibly well in the GOP. I had thought Whitman and Fiorina were primary goners, but they are soaring in the polls!
