kesil, I made some orange icons to show my support of the "Orange Revolution" going on in the Ukraine. :D If you don't know what I'm talking about, I haff links, because you should!
- Ongoing Yahoo coverage
- 'Maidan,' the Ukraine resistance online
- The NRO piece from yesterday
The people have been on the streets for two weeks protesting, with hundreds of thousands of them and not one violent incident. They've had weddings and campouts, and those who can't stay on the streets patrol and offer blankets, food, and free medical attention.
Yushchenko has asked his supporters to stay in the streets until three demands have been met: Kuchma fires the current Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, the man who claimed victory in the election, and his government; the Election Comission that sanctioned the fraudulent vote is replaced; and reforms that prevent more fraud in the next ballot on Dec. 26 are put into place.
Wear orange to show your support! And then tout some iconage! ^_^
