Okay, so that's a simplification of what the Democrat pundit on the morning news said... it was closer to -

"Democrats have already walked the plank on health care, they should push it through so it's done and then move forward."

Wait, so our Congressional representatives should do something they're being told we don't want them to do because we've already told them we don't want them to do it? This is the idiotic logic of pure politics. Who cares what the people want? If they can't hurt you anymore, do whatever the hell you want.

Anyone else feel this is dangerously close to the logic of dictatorship? "You have no power over me, so I don't care what you say." UGH! I hope Scott Brown hurries into the Senate as fast as he can, and the Republican party needs to pull its act together. NOW.

The problem is, we've started to think of the government as an entity, complete with rights and interests. We believe that it has a RIGHT to power and, in exchange, it provides us with a pittance of security. We've come to think of our freedoms as something to barter with, and that it's acceptable to give and take the liberty of others, so long as it's done under the cover of democracy.

We need to force the idea that all the laws and the constitution are outgrowths of the consent of the governed, and that no law is legitimate while forced on its subjects, regardless of the process used to make it.

I read this while lurking through some conservative message boards last night, and I think it's very accurate:

"The Democrats in power currently have the same thought process as rapists: 'You'll realize how good it is once it's finished.'"

The majority has clearly spoken. We don't want Obamacare. We don't want to stray away from political balance. Will that stop the likes of Obama and Pelosi from shoving this down our throats? I doubt it, because they're power-hungry egomaniacs. If they do pass Obamacare before Brown is sworn in, though, then that's the final nail in the coffin for the Democrats.
