With the special election coming down the home stretch in Mass. I have noticed an interesting trend beginning on the Far Left; they are advocating that voters stay home in protest of The Leader's failure on the GLBT agenda. This has been especially true amongst the bloggers.
If this takes off and the GLBT vote does not materialize this will also make a win perhaps materialize in Mr. Brown's future on Tuesday.

Scott Brown's opponent, Martha Coakley, is not best loved by the GLBT community anyway because as AG, she rubber-stamped the marriage amendment here a few years ago. In all fairness, that isn't something that should be held against her - her role was to judge the amendment's constitutionality, and there wasn't much she could do about it. The amendment was slapped down through a series of backroom deals in the end anyway, but there are still people mad that Martha didn't (IMO) overstep her role and refuse to certify it.

This is an attempt to make it seem like "ZOMG, they lost because they're not liberal enough!!!!"

I wonder what the left thinks of Ike Skelton and his opposition to ending Don't Ask Don't Tell.

That's what the boys at Hillbuzz call him. GOD I LOVE THEM. So they might even get some GLBT voters to actively vote FOR Brown! ;D

*eyeroll* I've NEVER understood the idea of boycotting an election to make a statement. Um, all that does is help your opponents. Idiots.

I disagree that it's stupid. When you cannot vote your conscience, then you're left with voting for the lesser of evils, and that's not always something people are comfortable with.

That's an individual decision, which is of course an option. However, organizing an entire group of people to boycott an election drives me nuts and is counterproductive. Put up your own independent candidate or submit your issue for referendum.

Hey, it's not just conservatives that shoot themselves in the foot. Good to know.

Excepting those under 21, the majority of LGBT voters I know are quite libertarian socially and quick to criticize any candidate, right or left or in between, when they say one thing and do another. I suppose when your experiences with the government getting your back has historically been that bad, there's a natural skepticism there. :)
