I can haz modly permission to pimp, and pimp I shall. Several people in a previous post evinced an interest in a writers' community that leans right, and I have created one. Come forth and join! We have... um. Writers'...stuff. Yeah.

Writers of any stripe welcome. Fiction, non-fiction, fanfiction, poetry, it's all good.

Even just readers?

I was just coming to post to see how we should set it up. :D

I would suggest going members only or leaving a clear note about member-locking posts with original writing content. It's generally advised in the writing community to not make writing completely open to the public to protect against plagiarism, among other reasons.

Yeah...we're bound to get newbies who might want to publish some day, so it'd just be good to say "hey, the industry thinks like this sometimes". A lot of writers are paranoid, because there have been a few cases of theft. And every agent has their own opinion or lack of one about whether you've "spoiled" a story or not by putting it online. A snippet of a novel usually won't get you in trouble.....a whole short story, probably. If I do a full chapter, it's always friends-locked. I hate seeing people taken advantage of.

This. I run a writing comm myself, and we have everything locked by default, even though most of the things posted are not people's writings. However, we only take on new members at one time of year, so leaving it open for people to see and join at any point isn't an issue.

Have you been happy with how the comm developed, out of curiosity?

As a general note, permission to pimp comms and such is a given, though we won't complain about getting asked anyway. :)

Yeah, my opinion is, "If it's mostly related to the comm, why not?"
