veritas_poetI've been a part of a mailing list called emuse (formerly Scullyfic) for years. It started off being a fan group for the X-Files. After the show ended, it was kept as a hang out spot with weekly topics, and a sprinkling of XF stuff when the mood hits or when it's in the news or for the recent revival.
They posted a "check in" message for those in NYC due to the jihadist attack. I hadn't even heard about it until that point because I'd been typing all day. So posted this:
I was typing all day, so I had to look up what you were referring to.
Those pesky Mennonites are at it again, I see? Oh, wait...
Happy Thanksgiving, kuffar!
But remember, kids, this has nothing to do with Islam. Anyone who says otherwise is mean, bigoted, hateful, Islamophobic raaaaaaaaaaaaaacist! Also remember that Christianity is just as bad! Why, just the other week someone blew up themselves and others, while screaming "Praise Jesus!" and posting on their Facebook where the Bible commands them to do it.
Oh. Wait. That only happens in the fevered imaginations of people who are literally too stupid to live.
So, here we go again. Cue the sappy memorials, meaningless platitudes, ("our thoughts and prayers"), candle lightings, flowers, and teddy bears, while all the while covering our ears and eyes and saying, "Islam is a religion of peace! We need to be more understanding of these poor, oppressed terrorists! After all don't children deserve to be blown to a bloody pulp? They live in Amerikka!"
Meanwhile, back in the real world, the blood continues to run in the streets as people's lives and families are torn apart. But we continue to do... nothing. Nothing but wait until the next round of slaughter, when this pathetic, sickening cycle begins again.
It's like a twisted version of Groundhog Day, only the names, places, and faces change.
One thing never changes though, and that's the demonic ideology that commands and condones this slaughter.
Mo - who will NEVER submit to this death cult, nor will be silenced for telling the truth about it!
As dependable as clockwork, just a few minutes after my post hit the list, I got this from the list owner:
Hi [M],
I understand that this is an issue you feel strongly about. However, this mailing list, and particularly a post of concern for the safety of list members, is not the appropriate venue. List rules call for consideration and respect toward other list members. Please keep that in mind in the future.

I responded:
I said nothing false. I used no profanity or vulgar talk. I made no threats. I made no calls for violence or harm to anyone, not even verbal insults. I've never done such a thing and I would never do such a thing. I would condemn anyone who did that.
I will not be shamed into silence. What I said was simply the truth. The more we are silent, the more people will die or be maimed/traumatized for life.
