I won't miss all my liberal Christian friends incessantly posting on Facebook about how it's okay for them to be Christians AND Democrats. If I read just one more of those posts, I'm going to spit. Or scream. Or maybe do something more productive, like commenting, "Methinks thou dost protest too much."
How a Christian votes is between him and his Maker. I've never said otherwise. But with the direction the Democratic party has taken . . . well, I just can't say I'm surprised that some of these people feel more and more and more of a need to justify themselves. They say it's just because they're trying to defend themselves against intolerant conservative Christians, but I don't think that's all there is to it . . .
(Just this afternoon, I was informed by a fellow Christian writer whom I know that tax breaks for the wealthy are morally equivalent to abortion. Bleah.)
