Interesting article on Politico on how the presumptive nominee has an appreciation of SF, in which the writer must go back and dredge up his statements about 'Battlefield Earth' from 2008. Also, are further comments by those, who while in the field, are known to be on the left, and even apologists for the administration's destruction of manned spaceflight in the US. It's a rather funny article when you look at the lens in which they have to admit (or stridently deny the report) that Romney actually reads popular fiction. Between that and the comments on the site I was giggling as I noted just which side was able to express themselves, and who had the errors in spelling and grammar. (Probably recent college graduates.)  I think it is a great example of trying to make the facts fit the desired conclusion. I just have to laugh at my friends who are on the left who happily defend the President's love for comics but either disavow or attack the possibility that there might be commonality between themselves and someone from the other side.
