So how is the "Day of #Occupation" or whatever they're calling it going in your city? #Occupy Phoenix was supposed to "occupy" our light rail system and a few other things, and so far, nobody has really shown up. I guess its "#Occupy Failure."

It looks like NYC hasn't been so lucky. Last I saw, there were thousands blocking streets and making general nuisances of themselves by making life harder for the "99%" they claim to represent and wish to help.

One of the really frustrating things about the whole #Occupy movment is the double-standard with regards to the enforcement of the law. I believe that #Occupy would never have gotten off the ground had Bloomberg, Quan, etc simply allowed the enforcement of laws currently on the books. Instead, they arbitrarily suspended enforcement of the laws against a specific group of people because they, personally, agreed with their political beliefs. Not only is selective enforcement of the law against the bedrock values of the United States, it is dangerous, as Bloomberg, Quan, and others are now learning. It took rampant drug use, rapes, molestations, and violence to make the politicians act, and I do not believe for a moment that they wouldn't allow something like this to happen again.

What I am seeing, again and again, is that people are treated differently under the law based on their politics. This isn't by the average cop, rather its by the prosecutors in deciding who to prosecute; its the judges when they decide that people have the "right"--even for a moment--to occupy private property (that is tresspassing, last I checked); and its the politicians who make conservatives (the Tea Party) apply for permits, buy insurance, and pay daily fees for police and property use while allowing leftwing protestors to form encampments without permission, without insurance, without paying for police and property use, and while costing the taxpayers millions in police overtime and property destruction.

And don't even get me started on the Department of Justice, which has displayed extreme prejudice in enforcement of the law based not only on politics but on race.

I feel like all of this is going to get worse before it gets better. And that is a frightening thought indeed.
