(Hilariously, the print version of the Post's report on the separation ended with a completely irrelevant mention that Moran was pro-DADT repeal. That's Post-speak for "Don't worry, fellow Dems, he's still a stand-up guy!")

One of my church friends sent this to me. I lol'ed, and now share the message and its sentiments with y'all!

To My Democrat Friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable tradition of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2011, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere.

Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

Mod Post: Introduction and Feedback

Hi All! I am Esther, (aka modernelegance). Even though I know I have gotten to know a few of you, I thought I should make an official introduction and tell you some of my expectations for the (immediate) future of this community.

I will not be making many changes (right now) other than cosmetically (layout/userinfo) to start. I will also instate a tagging system and placing formerly popular posts in the memories. That way things will be a little more organized and easy to find. I also hope to encourage more community interaction (since we are all awesome people!) so a friending meme and community census will be posted so we can get to know each other more.

I do want to use this opportunity to gain ideas and feedback from you all. What are your expectations for this community? Are there any changes you would like to see made? I am open and will consider any suggestions you all have. :)
