I think I found this on Drudge? I'm not sure. Either way, WTF, right? My hub and I both have the luxury of owning a car each; his is 100% paid off and mine is about 65% paid-off (I just bought it new last year) and we're both paying for our insurance, our maintenance (just laid down $800 on my hub's car last week), and AAA. Now I'm finding out that Americans (or are they?) are not only entitled to housing, food, and medical care at my expense, they're also entitled to cars
, along with all of the expenses associated with them, also at my expense!

All of this when our country as a whole is going bankrupt. What's next? The program stipulates that only families with children are eligible (but wait, don't the advisors
encourage otherwise unqualified people to have children
just so they can qualify? I saw that in another story where a luxury apartment complex was bought-out by HUD for conversion into low-income housing. Existing tenants were evicted and one woman was told she could stay if she "had a baby."), so will they soon add HD cable TV as an entitlement paid-for by the taxpayer so the children can have access to the Discovery Channel and NOGGIN? Will we also subsidize "the childrens' " cell phones, too?
Oh, and if the person becomes unemployed, we'll eventually stop paying for their insurance, AAA, registration, etc.
However, the leech--er, "down on his luck" person--gets to
keep the car. Meaning we'll have that many more uninsured drivers on the road. What
are the insurance rates for Massachusetts, anyway?
Really, there are Americans who are not on welfare who do not have automobiles because they recognize that a) cars are a luxury, and b) they can't afford them. Doesn't that just go to show that, no matter how poor people seem to be in this country, they're still better off than people in other countries? I mean, when was the last time you saw someone driving a donkey to and from the grocery store? Or living in a mud hut?
I understand that Massachusetts is one of the bluest (if not
the bluest) state in the union, but wow. I imagine that, if Massachusetts didn't recieve federal assistance with so many of its social welfare projects (or rather, assistance with other state projects which enables the state to free up funding for welfare), it would not be able to afford to breathe its own air. Pity that we can't get back to brass tacks and start telling the states to take care of their own problems and stop robbing
my wallet here in Arizona to pay for their crazy entitlements.
