(I posted this to my journal: I think it's a swell project: and it might be one that could cross the partisan divide: our troops deserve all our support, not just those of us who (often) vote republican...)
All of my fellow Americans, who are (of whatever degree) pacifists, and yet who nonetheless "support our troops" (as the slogan goes)

If you can love the Iraqi kids more than you hate Shrub and the war, lay down a few for them. Better yet, take the project to your P.T.A. or church group and organize a sewing & crafts project to make puppets for the kids. I was sewing dolls and stuffed animals at the ripe old age of ten (and I'm a class-A klutz). If I can do it, you can do it!
