Pardon me while I attempt, for the next several weeks or so (or possibly longer, depending on Darth Real Life), to gather all the random thoughts that arose when, last year, a leftist friend of mine rather unfairly challenged me to explain how I, a right-winger, interpreted- and ultimately enjoyed- Babylon 5, a show written by a self-proclaimed liberal atheist and admired by many equally liberal fans. I am determined to make a publishable essay from this, but I need to see my musings in black and white on the screen first before I can organize them into a coherent whole.
First- and for this, you can blame
kcwriter, who tonight shared a post from a Yahoo Bible group entitled ROSES AND THORNS and thus kick-started my meta engine- I want to talk about my favorite character. I want to talk about Londo Mollari, and how the writings of C.S. Lewis in particular helped me to understand and to feel sympathy for him.
