So, I'm sitting here in Adv. Writing Sem. (Haha, I'm such a slacker) and we're analyzing the 'effectiveness' of Michael Brown's letter to Michael Chertoff asking for the help of DHS employees after Katrina. And I can certainly tell the affiliation of most of the people in my class. *makes face* Their argument is that he wasn't urgent enough in his letter. Not urgent enough? It's a professional letter! What did you want him to do, panic? Mainly they say he didn't give enough information, except for the fact that he totally covered everything (reasons they need help, the roles the employees would play, etc.) in the attachment. So what exactly didn't he cover? Ah yes, and then there's the argument that he sent this letter "much later than he should have". Blah. It kind of sucks to be in a majorly liberal class.
